The Escape Engine - Celebrity Role Model

With every emo record that crosses my desk I become more skeptical and cynical. However these kids from New Jersey are surprisingly good. There must be something in the water. This band sounds like a better version of Brand New. “Celebrity Role Model” is gushing with passion and honesty. Combine those elements with above average musicianship and gruff vocals rather than polished boy-band style vocals and this is a good album. These kids could very easily be the “next big thing.”
